9-3SS ish...Dated, you say that like it's a bad thing.. Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Nice, dash seems a bit odd, I will have to see it in, steve, Mon, 10 Oct 2005 20:07:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I think the 9-5 interior look is lifted from the 9-3SS. The paddle shifters on the face of the wheel work well in a 9-3SS, far better than the 9-5 paddles, but sadly the 9-5 soldiers on without a slap shifter like in the 9-3, you still have to carefully select "M" in a 9-5 instead of just slapping it over into the manual gate.
" dated car in many respects " isn't such a bad thing, but I find a 9-5 up to date still in a competitive market. For example the chassis is still the best of the FWD'ers, less torque steer, better ride and handling. With the exception of Blue Tooth and voice recognition a 9-5 has all the contemporary toys, xenons, park assist, rain sensing wipers, auto dim mirrors, heated and vented seats, ESP, XM radio (horray for 2006!), excellent nav, and a stout, stout turbo motor that's unique in the class. I'll leave the sound insulation to Lexus, give my more boost and a ticket to the Aero Academy.
And it comes in a really cool SportCombi. A sportwagon all by itself is a dated notion that's coming back.
