Following the advice given in the other posts (jack stands, correct socket, and rotation to loosen), mine was so tight I placed a small hydraulic jack under the breaker bar and gave it a pump. The bolt broke free. No other problems since.
You will have to use your own judgement, but it worked for me. I'm comfortable with tools and I was unable to apply enough torque to break the bolt free.
This is the reason I like to change my own oil.
