Didn't drive the a/t, but I'll predict there's none of the idle shaking.
Digression...
For that matter, even the a/t 4 cylinder 9-3 doesn't shake like a 9-5 b/c the idle speed is lower. Idle speed must be set so the "firing rate" does not coincide with one of the body's resonant frequencies. For the 9-5, it must be around 900 rpm to be above the resonances - to get below the resonances on the 9-5, the 4 cylinder won't idle that low. The 9-3 body is so much stiffer that the engine can idle below the first resonant frequency - at 600 or 700 rpm. Lower speed idle means less load through the torque converter, so less load on the engine.
End digression...
Driving the standard shift, there's absolutely no turbo lag in normal driving - credit the extra cubic inches. The car handles better than a 9-5: nearly neutral steering. For '06 they use slightly larger tires and have softened the Aero's suspension bushings, so there's less harshness in the ride.
But the car isn't a whole lot faster than a 9-5 Aero - maybe a little b/c its lighter, and the V-6 torque band is a little wider. The V-6 is in a milder state of tune compared to the 4 cylinder engines. 0.6 bar (9 psi) of boost compared to 0.8 bar for the 9-3 4 cylinder and over 1 bar for the 2.3L HOT.
