Rear deck speakers

1999 9-5 base model, with the 7 speaker system (one in the center dash, one in each door and two on the rear deck). On a road trip from Florida to New York, my passengers informed me that they could not hear anything in the rear, except through the door speakers. How can I check the wiring for the rear deck speakers?
