I did, and I probably would. This spring, I looked at everything in the $35K or lower price range. Ended up with an outstanding deal on new '05 9-5 Aero (it really helped that the dealer had a buyer for my low-mileage '02 Aero coming off lease). Newer/fresher technology be damned, it just felt right.

I really do not like the direction taken with the '06 "refresh" (both interior and exteriors are steps in the wrong direction, imho), but maybe they'll straighten things out in a couple years (or I'll come around to appreciate what I cannot today). If not, there's a good chance I'll buy my '05 when it comes off lease (I've said this 3 times now, but have always found a new Saab I like). I'll probably sample the competition again, as well.

Except for the DIC recall on my '99, my 7 years of 9-5 ownership have been absolutely trouble free (knock on wood).

Before we write them off, let's first remember that if not for GM there most likely would be no Saab today, and also that people have been predicting the demise of Saab for a long time, yet it's still here. Having said that, I must say that I am now the most pessimistic about the long term viability of Saab as I have been since I bought my first in '99. The situation at GM seems worse than ever, and I'm just afraid the bean counters are going to finally decide to cut their losses (cutting a division that sells high mileage cars would be right in line with their decision to invest in big SUVs).

Then again, before we go off on a Toyota love fest, can I tell you about my Sienna's run flat tires that cost ~200.00 each and need replacement after 17K lazy miles? Talk about expensive operating costs!
