I haven't done any battery replacement myself and the reason for that is that the cost saving is not that good for a customer when paying a shop to dig around doing it compared to just installing a new alarm siren with new batteries inside.
It is a lot more labor to replace the batteries compared to just replacing the alarm siren.
But for a DIY person I can see the cost saving doing some tinkering.
Did you find the directions with color photos. Those are pretty straight forward.
