Buck is right in that it is a software dealing with cat issues in some model/years (V6 only). It is not the latest software but an earlier one. That's what got me off track.

The first update says something like this.

<More robust and increased diagnosis of fault related to the throttle housing. More robust knock detection signal, decrease the risk for engine power loss. More robust function of ignition retard. Re calibration of catalysator diagnosis, decrease the number of incorrect MIL indications (B308E). Re calibration of the throttlehousing to avoid engine power loss at driving at haigh altitude (B308E).>

And the latest one says

<Support for Tech 2 special function to detect Ignition Discharge Module failure. Improved control of ignition trig drivers to protect Ignition Discharge Module. Cold engine protection implemented. Improved CC tip in / out. Improved knock detection.>

The way I understand it is that the Tech2 scantool when looking and comparing software updates will choose/suggest the latest one and the older ones are included in that latest software automatically.
