Hopefully not the case with yours, but I did a brush and brush holder adjustment first to restore my blower motor, but it still required getting the fan out and back in. As it was likely the factory original blower from 1998, the polypropylene fan turbine might have lost some flexibility from heat and age and it cracked at the edge of the turbine opposite the motor as I was wrestling it back in. As a result, at increased speed, the crack would separate and make a racket as it spun slightly out of round and off balance. My solution was to use a soldering iron to heat weld the crack back together, rather than add weight by using whatever unknown glue can successfully weld such plastic. I eventually had to replace the blower with a new unit, but my fix lasted for over a year. As I said, I hope you have a leaf or other debris, rather than a damaged fan turbine. Best of luck.
