I have posted about that for a few years. And I had an event where I had driven on EBC pads for a while and had worn past the hot bedding in surface. I had a sudden highspeed braking event that was brief and had the symptoms after that. I then later proceeded to try to burn off the problem and it works, with a small amount lingering after my first attempt as you reported. I then made an effort to do some harder braking during my routine driving after that and the brakes ended up perfectly smooth. In this case, the rotor is perfectly true, but feels like a warped rotor. Readers who are not familar with the issue should read the linked article in Richards post.
If a deposit type braking problem is ignored and not burned off, then the uneven heating from deposit, which does create the pulsing, will create a true warping from the uneven heating. So ignoring the problem makes a minor problem into a serious problem.
Having said all of that, it is important that wheel bolts be properly and evenly torqued. Impact wrenches can create problems of this nature.
