Drop out what you can, and replace with fresh. Drive a bit to mix up the result, and do it again. Then do it at least one more time.
Look at it this way: Your transmission obviously has a problem. It might run as it for another 5 or 500 miles. If you change the fluid, it might last 5, 500, or 50,000 more miles. Worst case, you are out the cost of a case of fluid and a few minutes of your time. Best case--you are several thousand dollars ahead.
If changing the fluid seems to solve your problem and everything runs well for the next few hundred miles, serious consider doing the same thing again, but this time using AMSOIL synthetic ATF.
