Well... We had a 1991 Legacy (2WD non-turbo) and we traded it for a 2000 9-5 lpt wagon. The Saab is a much nicer car to drive. It is quieter and more powerful. It also has a larger hauling capacity. We like it a lot. The 9-5 even gets good mileage, which is a plus at $2.25/gal.
The Subaru was trouble free for 107k miles. We had no significant issues. The 9-5 has been trouble under warrenty. All the usual stuff, turbo, DIC, SID, Fuel gage, fuel tank, battery... This was compounded by the fact our local dealer is an idiot. Each of the above problems took 2+ trips to the dealer, even the battery.
Since the car went out of warrenty I have been doing the work. So far, the 9-5 has been kinda good for the last year. We lost a water pump and a heater valve, which are common. We also lost the wiper assembly. This was unusual.
Drive Safe,
Joe
