Hi everyone,

I have only owned my first Saab for about 3 weeks now, and I have noticed that there is a constant high-pitch whining sound that comes from the car when you start it up.

It is not so loud that it is highly noticeable and people look at me or anything, but I can still hear it. Kind of sounds like that constant background noise you hear when you board a plane and it is just sitting still with it's engines on idle. As much as I would love to insinuate that this is Saab's way of making us feel like we're actually boarding a plane, I fear that is not it, hahaha.

So any suggestions or guesses would be much appreciated. No check engine lights are on, the ACC works perfectly and returns no codes when calibrated (just the 0), and the engine works and sounds just fine (knock on wood for all that).

It may sound strange, but this morning, I tried to pinpoint where this whining noise was coming from and I could've sworn it was coming from towards the back of the car instead of the front. But like I said, the noise isn't loud at all, so it is tough to be exact.

This could just be when it is cold started, but I have only had the car for three weeks and it has been winter here in Pittsburgh for well over that, so cold starts is really all that I have known on the 9-5.
