I took my 03 Aero to Arroway Saab for a routine oil and filter change, I do this every 4 - 5k miles. My car has 77,000 miles on it and it was fine before I arrived at the dealer.

The Saab Technician put my car on the lift, started to raise the lift and I saw fluid poor out of the right rear of the car, it was all the oil from my Right Rear Shock, I was shocked and so were all the people in service.

They had to order a new shock, $575 per shock so I decided to replace only the right shock since I never had a problem and the suspension was fine. Since Arroway does not offer loaner cars anymore I got to pay for a rental car out of my pocket. They ordered the shock and put it in today.

I received a call and they told me when they raised up the car to put in the right shock, the left one started leaking the same way. Yes another $575 plus installation and another day of rental since they have to get the part from Dallas, I live in New York.

Has anyone ever had this problem? I've never heard of a $575 shock absorber is it gold plated?

Thanks for any insight you may be able to offer.
