It is one rear shock for automatic leveling system that retails for exactly $575.00 each so that is what your car might have.
P/N 5063094
The next auto level shock retails for $527.00 (P/N 5238530) and the third one for $472.00 (5238530).
I haven't seen it on a Saab before but a mechanic friend of mine lifted a Range Rover up in the air and suddenly we heard a loud pop/bang and all the shock fluid leaked out so I guess it's possible.
It is possible to "down grade" the suspension to regular by replacing both shocks and springs.
You cannot replace shocks alone with regular ones on a load leveling car since the shocks are an integral part of the suspension lift (the car would sag badly if done that way).
