because the air flowing through the engine will help cool it as you travel at the high speeds. But the drop will be slight, and mostly noticable at very low or very high outside temps. That is why cars tend to over heat when just sitting, because there is no airflow from driving. But your temp guage, depending on the outside temp, and how long the engine had been running should hover right in the middle of the gague. If the gauge is to low, the car will run rich, wasting gas, and if it is to high it will run the fans faster, and longer, which might not be nesissary, wasting gas and electricty.
