You probably know this, but the DIC should be covered under the recall. Keep reciepts (that is what the letter said).
I have the v6 model that was in the 9000. I was agast when I pulled the valve cover off after the timing belt failed (and took the valves with it) that the cam shaft was stamped GM. If I had known that this was a GM engine back when I purchased the car used,i would have held out for a V4.
Dealership tried to scare me into the timing belt idle pully repair on a V6 2001 Wagon. I called SAAB USA and they claimed no knowledge of any issue with the v6 idel pully system, but some say on this board there is an issue. This was going to be a $700+ addition to the schedule belt replacement.
I will probably never purchase another SAAB with the GM V6 engine. Hold out for a V4.
