Happened on my '02 Aero (replaced)

This was a problem on my car as well (left shutter). It seemed to me that the longer it was between high beam usages, the more likely the screen was to stick. I could usually get mine to work again by cycling it repeatedly. I complained about it several times, but the dealer could not duplicate the problem. My dealer is fairly close and on my way to work, so I started checking it each day before I left home. One day, I got lucky (?) and the left shutter wouldn't activate. I drove straight there and they confirmed the problem paving the way for a replacement headlight assembly. Thank God it was under warranty ($1000)!
I had the flicker problem before they replaced the assembly as well (to the point of one light occasionally going completely out for several seconds). I still get flickers every now and again (mostly near idle) but it is much better.
I am a bit nervous that I may have to replace the assembly again at some point in the future.
