What sold me was the older style glass headlights with the wipers, the chrome grille which has more Saab DNA in it, and the old style bumpers, front and rear. Saab saved a few parts and $ with the integrated bumpers I would imagine, but the resulting fillets spoiled the lines of the car to my eye.
First two pics are 2001:
