Why? I need to the last 8 of your VIN to run an IRIS report.

1. You only have 37K on the car? If so, your still in warranty until 07/18/06 or 50K miles. Saab bumper-to-bumper warranty is 4years/50K miles.

2. Saab had a campaign (15412, expired on 11/24/04) for the front T/S assemblies falling out. The repair involved the installation of a metal clip to reinforce the plastic one. That campaign was claimed on your car by a dealership in Ohio on 04/13/04 at 20,398 miles. My guess is they probably did the job. Why? Because:

A. It is very easy to do. You could do them in the parking lot.

B. It pays well (0.4 hours). That is double what warranty pays for an NG900 muffler replacement (0.2 hours) and over half what a 04-> first 15K service pays (0.7 hours).I assure you, no car EVER (unless the parts were not in stock) left my shop with an open 15412 campaign.

C. If it had not be done, I would have thought that this would not have lasted an additonal 17K and 1year and almost 10 months.

So what happened? I don't know.

There are many reason why the lens fell out. Could be the clip fell out the last time the bulb was changed. Maybe the car was in an accident and the body shop did not install it correctly. I have seen all these reasons and more. Sometimes bad things happen to good people for no good reason.

3.The claim on IRIS (12/23/03 at 16,708 miles)for your "Turbo" problem was for a BOOST PRESS. REGULATOR ASSY or commonly known as a wastegate. The problem with IRIS is that the text on the repair order is not available. We don't know if the wastegate was repaced, adjusted, the clip for the rod fell off, a hose to it was off or broken, but, I don't think the turbo was replaced. The failed part number would have been different and believe me no dealer is going to give away a turbo.

Since the car appears to be under warranty, take it in. Give yourself enough time so that you car talk to the advisor and if the new turbo problem is intermittant, see if you can have a tech ride with you and show him your concern.

Good luck,
Steve C
