I think the '06 has some gains and some subtractions, but overall, it's still the same car with, to me, improvements.

I thought the old dash surface was archaic looking with its' faux elephant leather look. The new looks far more modern, and seems to produce less glare. The shift surround plastic isn't shiny in the one I drove, but it is cheaper looking than the wood in my '01- and that new little shelf is pretty cheesy.

However- that radio is LEAGUES better even if it shares wares with 'lesser' cars. The HVAC is vastly better, requiring no look-away to make simple adjustments. Rear seat heat is back, got the mp3 adapter, updated OnStar, sweet wheels across the line- it's all incrimental, but that works for me.. and it's cheaper too.

I also didn't notice the new horsepower on my drive around town, and really would be delighted to have better MPG over higher hp, but I'm sure I'm in the minority, there. My old 185hp 9-5 dusted most cars already, so whatevs, for me on that.

Really curious about the BioEthanol model.. hoping GM actually takes a lead on this technology, but just noticed on Autoblog that Saab has partnered with... FORD in an organization to promote the fuel alt. Kind of speechless on that.
