Took car in for dealer to replace light bulb in 3rd brake light. Gave me a song and dance and stated the whole light had to be replaced ($140 CDN)because there was a 'short circuit' and that the light cover no longer stays in place. Sounded fishy so I look at it myself when I get home. I replace the bulb works and it works fine. SID error message is cleared. However I notice that the tabs on the base are broken and it was glued on. It appears the tech broke the snaps blames circuitry as an excuse to order a whole new light component (covering up his mistake) and have me the unsuspecting fool pay for his mistake. After half hour arguing with the service manager, dealership agrees to order the part and pay for it.
Is the base easy to replace? Since I would like to do it myself since I no longer trust the dealership and whats to prevent them from not replacing the part and gluing back together and me not knowing until another bulb goes out thx.
