Oil seepage is normal and is probably from the areas you mentioned. There was no alternator where you describe but a brake boost pump exists on some models. The valve cover gasket might fix that. Had similar problem on my 9000 and just tightening the screws holding it on slowed down the leak a lot. I have replaced the headgasket twice in my 9-5 due to oil seeping. I waited until oil was dripping onto the garage floor before doing it.
