The Saab brand is definitely positioned as a premium brand, but there isn't a great deal of genuine effort behind it. There is a new, first class showroom. It is right next to the Volvo showroom, and to the BMW showroom. The problem is that the dealership is really dedicated to Cadillac. If you go there to buy a car, they will steer you towards Cadillacs. Want a free loaner car when your car is serviced? Buy a Cadillac. Want Saturday service? Buy a Cadillac. On the lot this week, there are about 15 Saabs, mostly 9-3s and a few 9-7s, and one new 2005 9-5 Arc. There are probably 40 Hummers, and more than 100 Cadillacs.
Based on service alone, I will consider another brand when my 2004 Aero is up for replacement. I hope Saab is taken more seriously, because I would like to buy another Saab.
