It's scary how often we ponder this question. Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: What the heck? .... ~, Steve C, Sun, 19 Mar 2006 12:14:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Cranking/no cranking, Turn over/no turn over, firing up/not firing up.
I guess we will never agree to a common lingo.
In this case I read the first sentence as the engine is actually rotating but it will not fire up. But then the next sentence make it sound like the starter is not spinning the engine at all.
I belong to another group, IATN, where it is "supposedly" only professional technicians asking question when they have gotten stranded with a problem.
We are having the exact same problem trying to figure out if the starter is actually making the engine spin or not when reading the cry for help.
Since the approch of help is completely different depending on the two scenarios, it is of uttermost importance that the poster make it clear whether or not the engine is rotating.
In this case I'm guessing battery, starter lug nut, crank sensor, IDM or fuel pump?
