Cleaning throttle body

Hi all,
I attempted to clean the throttle body and I couldn't get the delivery pipe off the throttle body. It's on there pretty tight. And yes, I loosened the clamp. Is there some method other than yanking on the thing to take it off?
Also, there is a nipple looking thing on the delivery pipe right above the throttle body that looks like there should be a hose on it but there isn't. Another 2003 9-5 Aero owner says he has this on his too with no hose attached. Anyone know what this is exactly? It doesn't appear to be open to the delivery pipe. I'd attach a picture but I'm not sure how.
Thanks for any help.
