most people seemed to be about 3-5 mph high.
The police in my town use "radar trailers" to monitor speed on various roads and my speedo is consistently 3-4 mph high. Same with the trailers in other towns/states where I've passed them. The cops tell me the units (like all police radar) is accurate to within +/- 1 mph.
On a highway trip, if I set the trip computer while underway with cruise engaged at say, 75, the computer tells me I'm actually going 71 or 72. So the car does "know" how fast it's going. The speedo just doesn't tell you.
Of course, this is useful in keeping under the ticket threshold.
FWIW, my old C900 was almost dead accurate on radar, but my wife's Exploder is also 3 mph high.
