Turbo Precations?

I bought my 2001 9-5 V6 a few weeks ago, and talking with the previous owner recently, it came up that it still has its original turbo in it. I was very surprised because that means it has 160,000 miles, and in a lot of posts on this forum I have heard that you're lucky to get 50,000 miles out of them. Seeing as the car is long out of warranty, I do not want to spend $2,000+ replacing the turbo. Aside from letting it idle down for a while before turning the engine off, are there any other precautions I should be taking to preserve the life of my turbo? Seeing as most of the mileage is highway, the turbo probably wasn't used all too much. Do I need to drive my great car like an old lady, or can I drive it normally? I just did an oil change this morning with Mobile 1 10w-30 Full Synthetc oil. The last change was just about 3,000 miles ago.
