No doubt it was the dealer and they did own up to it and apologize - but I actually called them 2x trying to locate the car - each time they said the car wasn't there, and I had called them earlier when the tow truck took the car away, and I'm assuming that the roadside assistance people contacted them as well. Dealer rep said the car was in their computer under another name - lame excuse.

So I'm looking at the entire process - my battery is dead, and they have to flatbed it away, the tow company just takes the care, no receipt, then it goes off to a dealer who six hours later denies ever receiving it, despite two calls to them. And when I call the roadside assistance group with this issue, the rep says "our records show it was delivered to the dealer, we are no longer responsible" So who is then responsible for finding my car I asked them, and when he could not answer I went higher up to get a satisfactory response, who then contacted the dealer and stayed on the phone until the people at the dealership got off their a**es
and found the car.
My point is this - I sell sometimes complex solutions to customers, and in the customers eyes if something goes wrong I'm accountable, even if I'm not directly at fault. The customer can choose to accept the explanation I may give, but I cannot simply blame the failure on some one else and wash my hands of it.

So if I initiate the action with Saab roadside assistance, I expect them to follow through on my behalf if something fails in the process. If not, I have to question whether the roadside assist process is correctly designed. A 10 minute battery change should be just that, 10 minutes.
