Recently had my 01 95lpt at the indy having a in-op drivers window fixed and was told that during last oil change at saab dealer they failed to install new washer on drain plug and car was leaking oil. Returned to the dealer and was told that there was a washer present and that the oil leak was caused by failing head gasket and main seal. Car has 73k on it and was qouted 1700 to repair. Have only owned the car for 11 months and have already had to replace water pump, thermostate, cv joint, drivers side window, black plastic belt quard underneath and various other items to the tune of 1200 already. Is this common on used saabs? Car was leased new at the dealer I bought it used from had all service records. After buying car I got a copy of all service work done and am now worried. Car had gone through 1 water pump and turbo at 20k, 2nd turbo at 46k along with 15 other services before I bought it at 52k. Don't get me wrong I love the way it looks, drives and handles but am starting to think that maybe I should put the 1700 down on a new honda accord and trade in my money pit before the head gasket dies?
