I have a solid foot since mine is parked on dirt or gravel. The advantage is that it puts the end of the tongue at hitch height so it's easier to connect.
Tighten the jack up periodically as the bolts tend to loosen.
BTW, the bracket for the number plate is very low on a Snowbear. If you use the tilt bed feature you may bend the plate. I put mine on the tailgate.
