Called Local Saab Dealer (Long)

We called the local Saab dealer today about my 2001 SE-V6 with the failed catalytic converter. The car has 160k miles on it and the front DI cassette failed in September of last year with the previous owner who is a friend of the family. On the highway the car started bucking and had a considerable loss of power. It was driven for about 10 or 15 miles on 3 cylinders to the next exit where it was towed to a local Saab indy or dealer (I forget what he said). Anyway, we called the local Saab dealer today and gave them the VIN of the car. It falls under the recall so we asked if there is any way for the catalytic converter to be replaced as well. The woman explained that it was unlikely that the cat. would have been destroyed by 10-15 miles of driving on a failed DIC. Seeing as the bad catalytic converter code showed up right after the DIC failure I am assuming this is what it's from. She said they would check it out and if they determined the cat. was a direct result of the DIC failure they would replace it. Does 10-15 miles sound like enough to ruin the converter? They also said there is another recall on my car for the lugs on the wheels and they would replace them. What's wrong with them? I haven't heard anything about these before.
Thanks,
-Brett
