I've heard of throttle bodies reverting to limp-home mode. I actually think there's a way for you to reset the throttle body in case it ever goes into limp-home mode again? Search this board and there might be the answer? Throttle bodies also fail as my 2002 V-6 had it's replaced at 45,000 miles. As far as fuel requirements, the engine is optimized for 93 octane. But the Trionic engine management system will compensate all the way down to 87 octane. I currently am running 89 octane and no detonation sounds, still have plenty of turbo boost. I use Chevron middle grade here in the Pacific Northwest. I've not tried 87 octane but I think I will just to see. I also am using 5w-30 full synthetic Mobil 1 in the engine. You have a great car. Enjoy it!
