If the two lock clips are still intact but the two wings on the bottom of turn signal switch is broken, you can take the switch out and place a piece of rubber vacuum tubing on the bottom and that will stiffen the turn signal assembly.
But if the lock tabs are broken too as it sounds like in Scott's case, it is harder to rig something up to hold the switch in place.
The plastic cover around steering wheel needs to be removed to access the switch.
