The solution to fix the turn-signal stalk was to use a modification of the suggested rubber vacuum line fix. I took a piece of rubber vacuum line I had laying around and after removing the covers and turn-signal switch, placed the hose vertically at the rear of the receiver for the turn signal assembly. There is a vertical channel there next to the steering column. I cut the hose a little long so it was bowed a bit to stay in place while I installed the turn-signal switch. It took a bit of force but I pushed the turn-signal assembly into the receiver on the column and it snapped in. The broken clips were the ones on the back of the switch so the side ones are holdig it. Anyway, very secure now. The vacuum hose I used had an inside diameter of approximately 1/8". The OD was probably close to a 1/4". BTW, my SAAB is still under the 4/50k warranty and then CPO after that BUT I've had miserable luck at the Saab Dealers so wanted to try a home remedy. Silly maybe - but last time they touched my car, it took over 3 hours of my time to get the grease out of the carpets, seat, console, door panel, floor mat, steering wheel, door frame, etc. A real mess. One thing I will say about Lexus Service is your vehicle comes back spotless after the service - my SAAB was a disaster. Plus I got grease on the seat of my pants driving the SAAB home. I emailed the Service Manager and no response. I was nice in the email as they did fix the problem the vehicle came in for, but trashed the car in the process.
