For some reason I'm willing to bet the person who was life-flighted was in the Honda.
There are lots of accidents where what you are in doesn't matter because the speeds and other factors are fairly well covered by a car's design/build. But in a bad one I want to be in a car that will save my wife, kids or me. And you can never predict when you'll have a bad one.
When we first got a Saab in 1984 there was a line in the "brochure" (it was a 36 page book back then) that has always stuck with me. It went something like...
"...and when an accident simply can't be avoided, the car will use all its strength to protect you."
It went on to position the Saab as a car that would give its life to save yours.
It seems silly or even sappy... until a loved one walks away from a crash uninjured because you bought a Saab.
