Anders...Should specify as I don't think that other post was very clear. I was on my blackberry trying to keep it short...

My car is a 2003. I lost the only key for the car and bought a used working TWICE unit off of Ebay from a 2004. It came only with a tiny chip, not an entire fob...just the chip that embeds into the key fob. I assumed this was all I needed. The cheap SOB who I bought it off obviously needed the extra $30 from the rest of the fob. My dealer is telling me I needed the entire fob, the chip is not enough. That's the real question here...I don't trust he knows what he is talking about.

I bought two used fobs off Ebay, hopefully to be reprogrammed to work.

And I bought the actual metal blade to be able to get into the car, and get it towed into my local shop. That's what I have.

If you can clarify, that would be really helpful.
