According to the articles that are coming up, the 9-5 Biopower gets a lot more power on E85 (Ethanol has a high octane and is ideal for turbocharging) It's a 2.0 liter engine, and if I were to take a bet, I think we'll see it stateside as a 2007.
Here in Columbus, gasoline is averaging about $2.70-$2.75 right now (but I've seen a few stations at $2.59.) The one station (I know of) in town selling E85 has it for $2.42.
According to the first link on google...
"Tests in Sweden, where the pump price of E85 is 25 per cent less than gasoline, show that fuel costs in urban and mixed driving are broadly similar, although fuel consumption over the city cycle is about 30 per cent higher. ."
That would mean that E85 prices in Ohio would have to be $2.10 to be competitive. That might be possible with a better Ethanol supply system.
