Pending Trouble Code & Throttle Body question

'99 9-5 SE 4cyl Low Pres Turbo, 95K miles.
After getting trouble codes indicating a problem w/ the throttle body (P1230, P1231), I cleaned it out, reset the codes, and reset the limp home solenoid. That seems to have fixed the throttle body problem at least for now.
I also got a notice on my OBDII scanner (running on a laptop) that trouble code P0100 is pending. P0100 is for Air Mass Meter faults. However, the code has not been set. If I clear the codes, drive a little, and request codes again, I again get a report that no trouble codes have been set, but that P0100 is pending. The car seems to run just fine. I suspect that the P0100 code is unrelated to the throttle body problem.
So two questions
1. How likely is it that cleaning the throttle body will clear up the throttle body problem for weeks/months, or should I spring for a new throttle body and install it before contemplating any trips out of town?
2. What gives with the "Pending" trouble code for the AMM? I don't know how long it has been going on, but it could have been for quite some time.
