1. In private sales the buyer usually smogs the car although it is technically, in the law, the resposibility of the seller in Calif.
Deducting the cost of the smog if the buyer does do the smog from the selling price is legit. If the car doesn't smog the sale is void, that'sa hassle, but you are protected.
2. My 2000 upon inspection had the updated DIC. Recalls are for the cars, not the owners, so yes you can.
3. Some complaints about very loaded cars, normally no problems, overall pretty good about suspension issues, IMHO. I would imagine the only way to wear the outside would be if those tires were on the front. An alignment problem tends to wear the inside of the rears. How's it drive?
4. Got the books? The 60k requirements are in the service and warranty book, compare. Call the indy who did the work and ask about it, was there anything the previous owner cheaped out on.
