Popped over to the drugstore, got a new CR2032, put it in, and voila, the remote locking and unlocking works fine.

Tested the outgoing battery at 2.78 volts, whereas the new one is at 3.00. I wonder it the transmitter circuit is shot.

The two other remotes work well from a distance.

Maybe it is time to move up to the single key type. Not quite sure what you meant, Johnson, about getting the bodies of the key from Ebay etc. Did you mean you get the bodies, and the dealer switches the key blades and reprograms them?
