Getting close to 40k, so thinking about the service. I sent an email to the service department at my local dealer asking what the cost would be and what would be performed (having already checked my manual.) I also requested Mobil 1, 0 W40, (and let them know I was disappointed with the Castrol semi synthetic they put in last time for $50.) They "estimated" it at $462.88. I had to ask again what this covered and they replied: lof, tire rotation, plugs, one hour safety check and brake fluid flush.

Questions:
1. Do I need a "one hour safety check" for ANY future warranty issues? I have until December on the factory 4/50 warranty.

2. I can do the oil change myself, I'll pick up a filter and washer at the dealer and buy the oil for ~ $6/quart at "Mega lo mart." (The manual says 4.1 quart capacity - does this mean I should buy 4 qts or 5??)

3. Brake fluid flush? I didn't see this in the manual. Is 40k the correct interval on an '03 Aero?

4. The plugs in the manual are NGK PFR6H-10, gapped to 0.0374" Are the ones at Advance Auto for $9.88 ANY different that the Saab OEM plugs for for $13?

What else am I missing? I do my own rotations every 5k miles. Any tips or things to anticipate? I have a 5/8" spark plug socket. People always say to have a 6 point socket for the oil plug, anyone recall what size? Does it have to be deep well or anything special? $463 is ridiculous, isn't it, or am I being cheap? That's what we are on here for, isn't it? : )

Thanks in advance!
