I have a 2002 95 Arc which has not givne me any trouble so far. Just few hours back while driving, suddenly my car started vibrating and started loosing power. Did not respond to gas pedal very well. Had to stop on the side of the road and looked under the hood and smelled something weird (may be something burning, not sure). Shut-off the engine and started again but starts vibrating immediately and then stalls. Check engine light came on.

Somehow manage to drive it back home as I was only 1/2 a mile away on a downhill road. The card is in the garage now. I start it again, and now the engine starts, car vibrates and then shuts-off immediately. Check engine light and battery light stays on.

My car has been overdue for an oil change for about 600 miles now. Can that be a problem ? I checked the oil level and it looks fine to me.

Its evening here so the dealership is closed and can only be contacted tomorrow.

Any idea what might be going on.
