Will it start every day? Sure.
Will it ever strand you someplace? Possibly, but so can any car.
Will everything work until the day the car no longer runs at all? No. And neither will any other car.
The recent 9-5 models rate well on reliability, and since you are European you may take better care of your car than the average American. That helps because Europeans in general seem to take better care of their cars than most Americans. Many of the regulars here on SaabNet tend to overmaintain our cars and aren't bothered by Saabs needing extra care.
Saabs have some weaknesses they probably shouldn't, but they mostly make up for it with safety and performance and all around capability. They are not the best at anything (except turbo engines), but overall they are great. I sure don't want to drive anything else, and that's after 22 years driving Saabs and 3 of them in my driveway.
Cheers!
