It seems to be the left (driver side?) arm that break most often as far as the code 08 goes but if it is the "other" problem with no center vent air blowing, that plastic crank (P/N 5334693) is located on the right side (passenger side?).
The Tech 2 scan tool will show two different codes if it is the left (B-2495) or right (B-2295)temp flap having problems but it doesn't seem to log a fault code for the air distribution lever breakage.
In any way, if you go in and do any repairs, I would at least suggest to replace both those green stop arms (P/N 5334701)on left and right side to the more reinforced white ones after the temp flap repair.
