Things appeared so tight that I dismantled on the way in, and reassembled in sequence on the way out. The top idler is very easy to remove, the tensioner somewhat harder. Nothing to lose by trying it with these still installed.
I will be replacing my top idler for the second time with my 180,000 mile major service this weekend. I am not looking forward to doing the center idler again at 240,000 miles.
