Does not sound like an engine mount to me. All enignes move slightly with the torque that they give out, hence the need for a mount that gives just a little. when my mount gave out, when cold the stering wheele felt like I had grabed an industrial vibrator. it was bad, you could visably see the car vibrating. it would start to go away when the car warmed up, but after a while even this did not help. accelerating sometimes would even out the vibrations, and idel would be the worst.
What do you mean by "engine growl" ?
