mixing brake pad materials front and back

My 03 Aero needs rear pads. I have EBC Greenstuffs up front. Apparently, the 9-5 really should use Redstuffs because it meets two of EBC’s three criteria for using Redstuffs over greens – turbo and >200hp (third is AWD). These criteria were partially established because of the dust complaints about the Greens. At least the Greens dust cleans off easily unlike the OEM pad dust.
My question is should I just put Greenstuffs on the back not to mix pads? I have had OEMs on the back and Greens up front for more than 20K with no problems. EBC said OEMs can be mixed, but Reds and Greens should not be mixed. I don’t quite understand this limitation as I have read of plenty people changing just the front pads to some other compound while leaving the rears alone. Is it really unsafe to mix pads or is it simply less than ideal? My front Greens are barely worn so they should be around a long time. I don’t want to have to change them just to match the rears.
Pad options I’m considering:
Akebono Euro (ceramic, same as 05+ OEM Saab front material)
OEM Saab (eats rotors so probably not a good option)
EBC Reds
EBC Greens
