My second Mass Airflow Meter in two weeks? Posted by Nathan [Email] (#2249) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Nathan) on Thu, 28 Sep 2006 15:00:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Here's the situation (2002 9-5 Wagon, 36K miles):
Check engine light is on and the failure code is the mass air flow meter.
The car performs well, but has high RPMs on start-up, and hesitates when starting from stop, and a touch between gears.
This started two weeks ago. Mass air flow meter was replaced.
One week ago (and ~60 miles later) same symptoms, same fail code. Went to dealership for "expert" opinion. They fixed the throttle return and ignored the other code.
Now (another 60 miles later), same light, same code. Any thoughts?
The only other hint is that twice, after the engine warms up and 10 miles into the commute, my temp gauge falls to cold. I doubt it's related.
