Well, today was a good reminder to make sure your spare has air in it and needs to be checked a regular basis...
Drove to church in the morning... Noticed a slight shimmy/rough ride. After service walk out to car and notice that the rear drivers side tire is flat. Great I think... a damn flat.. (believe it or not, I had a screw driver in my wheel!!!!)
I get spare tire out and this tire has literally NEVER been taken out of the compartment (01 wagon) since the car came from the factory. Feels soft... Turns out I had only 10 lbs air pressure in it (60PSI recommended).
Now, before discovering this I had removed all the lug bolts but was unable to get the tire off (rusted to the mount??). I kicked the tire (I am 6'9" 280lbs.. I can kick..)not a damn thing.. lowered car a drove back and forth on it, no dice.. HOW DO I GET THIS THING OFF??? I still don't know... (Tire place did it no problem.. must have special tools)
Worked out in the end. Got a can of that seal all air + latex and was able to drive to the tireplace (Tires Plus) where they replaced my single tire (new in April) with same model/brand (Fuzion HRI 16 inchers). Rims and all were fine after...
