1999 OEM battery?

I think SWEDECAR mentioned that the OEM battery in the 1999 is an Interstate Mega-tron Plus MTP-91. My wife reported the car starting hard, like it was the battery. This morning I couldn't start it, seemed like a battery issue so I jumped it (using the new 9-3, natch). Since it has restarted easily after driving around for a while, it seems like it is not an ignition issue. Battery is the Interstate 72-mo stated above, but no punched out year or date on the battery sticker. So, could this be the OEM battery? That seems extremely unlikely. We bought the car used two years ago, no records from previous owner show battery replacement. I will buy a new battery to be on the safe side, but is it wise to go with Interstate? Of course, there could be something slowly draining the battery...
